Projection and Light

These are some examples of my work with projection. The projected pattern is a repeat I created from a section of a photograph. The surface pattern was then projected onto a figure dressed in white. I was looking at the effects of coloured light on the human form, how it created the illusion of distortion, and the silhouettes created in the process.





I loved the way the face and body were, in places, totally distorted by the projected image, how colour, shadow and pattern can warp the figure.

These next images are some photographs I took using coloured lights and long exposures. They haven't been manipulated digitally in any way, no Photoshopping involved! This is a type of art that can only exist on film...
